TRAGIC NEWS: A woman died and a man was hospitalized Tuesday after authorities responded to a report of an unresponsive person at a residence in Oakdale.

According to Antelope County Sheriff Bob Moore, deputies were dispatched at approximately 11:22 a.m. to 604 Rath St. for a report of an unresponsive male.

A responding deputy located an unresponsive man inside the residence and began life-saving measures. As additional first responders arrived, a second unresponsive person was discovered inside the home. Life-saving measures were also administered to that individual.

Both victims were transported to Antelope Memorial Hospital in Neligh. Moore said the male victim was listed in stable condition.

The female victim was pronounced dead.

A search warrant was executed at the residence Tuesday evening, and the investigation remains ongoing, Moore said.

The names of those involved have not been released.

The Antelope County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, Oakdale Fire Department and Neligh Fire and Rescue.
