๐ŸšจAttention HNR Community! We have some critical items on the agenda for our October meeting, including the approval of the 2025โ€“2026 school year budget and Tax Levy. There are two options listed and for the first time, HNR is looking at a potential operating deficit.

โ€ผ๏ธ Most importantly, we want to highlight Agenda Item 5D: School Board Discussion on the Future of HNR. This conversation will explore key questions such as:

๐Ÿซ๐Ÿซ Should the District continue operating two separate buildings?
๐Ÿซ Should the District transition to a single-site facility?
๐Ÿ“š Should the District explore consolidation with neighboring districts?
๐Ÿค Should a Future Planning Committee be established?

๐Ÿ”” This is a pivotal moment for the future of our school and community. While we will share summaries afterward, we strongly encourage in-person attendance for this meeting.

๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’› Your voice, your input, and your presence are more important than ever. Let's shape the future of HNR together. OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!

๐Ÿšจ IMPORTANT UPDATE: For those of you that have been following along. On August 29th, based on the Building & Grounds Committee meeting we attended earlier that week, we announced that there would be a community engaged conversation exploring the concept of moving to a single site with little to no additional tax burden.

๐Ÿ“ข At the September 17th Board of Education meeting it was decided that the "single site" topic would no longer be discussed at the Building and Grounds Committee meeting on October 1st. In the meeting it was said that instead, it will be added to the October 22nd Board of Education Meeting Agenda.

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ If you are interested in providing feedback at the meeting regarding this topic; Since it is now moved to a regular board meeting, you will likely only be able to do so during the public comment portion of the meeting unless the board President decides otherwise.

๐Ÿซ We encourage anyone curious about this topic to attend and/or stay tuned for updates!

Missed the August school board meeting? That's ok! We've got you covered! Here's what you may have missed.

๐Ÿšจ IMPORTANT UPDATE: At the September 17th Board of Education meeting it was decided that the "SINGLE SITE" topic would no longer be discussed at the Building and Grounds Committee meeting on October 1st. In the meeting it was said that instead it will be added to the October 22nd Board of Education Meeting Agenda.

๐Ÿšง We are leaving our original comments with this post, however we do want to advise, now that the conversation is being moved to a regular school board meeting, there will be less opportunity for community input outside of the allowed time for public comment.

โฌ‡๏ธ Original post below. Based on the Building & Grounds Committee Meeting in August.

ATTENTION HNR COMMUNITY: Single-Site? Let's talk!

๐Ÿซ Hold onto your coffee cups - a bold idea is brewing! The Buildings and Grounds Committee is exploring the possibility of a single-site school - with minimal or no additional tax burden. Sound ambitious? It is. Thatโ€™s why they need YOU.

๐Ÿ’กThe committee decided at this week's meeting that they will begin to workshop this concept, explore pros and cons, crunch numbers, and most importantly โ€” listen to our community.

๐Ÿค” Whether youโ€™re curious, cheering, concerned, or cautiously skeptical, they want your voice at the table.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Stay tuned for updates and ways to get involved! Because big decisions deserve big conversations.
