A legendary marimbist, composer, and educator, Keiko Abe helped shape the modern marimba as a solo instrument and inspired generations of performers around the world.

Hohner by David Maslanka is a powerful tribute to legendary percussion educator Bob Hohner.

Maslanka (1943–2017) was one of the most influential American composers for winds and percussion, known for music that blends spiritual depth, radiant sonority, and profound emotional honesty.

🥁Groovin’ Timps – Arnold Riedhammer

A driving and expressive timpani solo, Groovin’ Timps showcases the instrument’s full rhythmic and musical potential, blending precision, groove, and dynamic energy. Featuring a performance by Klaudia Rucińska, this work is a standout addition to the contemporary timpani repertoire.

Composer Arnold F. Riedhammer is an internationally sought-after percussionist and composer whose work spans classical music, rock, pop, and jazz. Born in Somerville, New Jersey, to German parents, his music is known for its strong rhythmic identity and performer-centered approach. Also featured is Rudimental Rumble, an energetic work for Rudimental Percussion Sextet (snare drum, tenor drum, two sets of quads, cymbals, and bass drum). The World Vibes Congress is back, and it's being hosted at the incredible Wells-Rap Mallet Research Center in Kutztown!

The museum has 160 instruments, along with exhibits and a theater, all housed in a beautiful $1.5 million building. We are so lucky to have the Wells-Rapp Center hosting this event!
Trust us—this is truly a must-see destination for all mallet players. Tony Miceli’s Temple students were recently there, and they were absolutely floored by the center. It’s definitely worth driving a few hours to experience.

Tobias Broström (b. 1978, Sweden) is known for his vibrant orchestral writing and has been performed across Europe, the US, and Asia. His works have appeared with major ensembles including BBC Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Dresdner Philharmonie, Brooklyn Rider, and many more.
