NEW STOP SIGNS!

The Borough of Jim Thorpe recently installed stop signs at the intersection of Fifth and Oak Street and Fifth and Lehigh Street. The stop signs were installed to make those intersections safer for both drivers and residents.

Coaldale --Update to the fire at 44 E. Howard

A total of five people lived in the home, 1 adult male, a 31yo woman and three kids ages 13, 7, and new born, were involved in the incident. 13yo was transported by life flight to Ceder Crest Hospital.

After crews were done saving folks from the fire they turned their attention to the fire itself and got in under control, unfortunately not before Multiple homes were damaged.

After everything was said and done, fire out and people at the hospital The Coaldale Fire Department did call for the assistance of a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal to investigate the cause.

It was then determined The start of the fire was traced to the rear porch of the home. Investigators determined the cause to be accidental, linked to an unattended Citronella candle placed near a rear wall.

Keep this young man in your thoughts and Hopefully folks can help these people with what they need to get back on their feet.
