From the Lansford Police Department:
12/17/2020

From the Lansford Police Department:

THE Borough of Lansford is operating under the State of Emergency Declaration since 12 Noon TUESDAY 15 Dec 2020

What does this mean you might ask..
This Declaration allows the Borough to expedite procedures in order to prepare, respond and recover from the current emergency.

It also allows for emergency specific actions or conditions to be established in order to handle all aspects of an emergency. In this case, we are limiting parking, there may be travel limits or bans needed depending on road conditions etc.. Borough Officials, Fire Department and Police Department Command Staff met to pre-plan our response to this storm ( Monday evening 12/14/2020) At that time we implemented what is known as "Unified Command" in order to address the incident.

LANSFORD BOROUGH will:

Enact parking bans on the full length of WATER, KLINE, SNYDER and FRONT Streets at 12pm Wed 12/16/2020

Other WINTER BANS normally in effect will be strictly enforced

THE LANSFORD FIRE DEPT Station will be manned by a duty crew for the duration of the storm and related operational periods

LANSFORD POLICE and FIRE DEPARTMENTS will respond on ALL EMS calls in order to assist Lehighton Ambulance Respond and Transport Patients

LANSFORD PUBLIC WORKS: IS prepared and will conduct around the clock plowing operations to keep at least one lane open for emergency vehicles

In the unlikely event we experience power outages for an extended period we can and will open WARMING stations as needed.

TRANSPORTATION for essential MEDICAL workers will be provided, contact us via the non-emergency number at 570-325-9111

Any incidents or changes will be sent out via all possible media so that the public is aware...

As has become my tradition, I am sharing this photo in memoriam of my late father, Walter S. Kulp, Jr. (back row, far right) and his flight crew to honor his service to our great country. Mr father flew a B-25 medium bomber in the Pacific theater during World War II. I miss him every day, and I am proud and humbled to be his son.
