Downstate Publications is owned and operated by Taylor and Elizabeth Pensoneau and publishes Taylor's books about legendary Southern Illinois gangsters and novels in the Jake Brodsky mystery series. Taylor is available as a speaker on a variety of subjects, including state politics, history and mining. He also has authored books about former Illnois governors Dan Walker and Richard Ogilvie, and the late Russell Arrington, a powerful Chicago politician.
