Fred Claus.... What can I say about this movie. I expected more for sure. When you see the cast you just expect it to be hilarious. I love Vince Vaughn and expected the this to be hilarious. It was not. While I love the idea of Santa having a brother who is the complete opposite of him, this just wasn't as good as I was hoping. On to the next one!

A true Christmas classic that totally missed me up to this point. Even as a kid, never saw it. After watching it I see why it is loved. I didn’t even mind that it was in black and white. Ha! Although today I am pretty sure the habitual line stepping neighbor would be on a watch list, I feel like it still holds up. A great story about the meaning of Christmas.

A Christmas Story is probably my favorite Christmas movie ever. So when they announced they were making this I was excited but skeptical. Set in 1973 Ralphie is now married with 2 kids of his own living in Chicago. He returns home after the sudden passing of his old man just a few days before Christmas. Many of the same actors from A Christmas Story return for this and while it is fun to see what life is now like this movies doesn’t hold a candle to the original. Not that I expected it to though. Overall if you’re a fan of A Christmas Story I think you’ll enjoy this. But I don’t think it’ll become something you watch every year.

A Christmas horror movie?! Well count me in. Fully expected to not enjoy this movie at all, but I actually did. It’s not real scary but I love the story. I might even threaten my nieces with Krampus going forward. Krampus is referred to as Santa’s dark shadow so you better not lose that Christmas spirit…. Good cast, funny moments, and some horror elements thrown in. Overall I enjoyed it.

So the Grinch has become my nieces favorite Christmas character. I have spent a fair amount of money on all things Grinch this year. Now I love the original Grinch of course and believe it or not have never seen the Jim Carrey Grinch version. We all know the story and I found this version to be fun and enjoyable. However, I kept focusing more on Jim Carrey than the story. Still though I see why people love it. I’ll probably stick to the original though.

Well I’m happy to report this movie can be enjoyed by the whole family! Set in the late 80’s 8-Bit Christmas is the story of a young boy who desperately wants a Nintendo Entertainment System for Christmas and all the various lengths he will go to in order to get one. This is a fun movie with a good old fashioned life lesson thrown in. (Chris Kelly would looove that part.) I think adults and kids would enjoy the fun, humor, and heart warming moments. While I don’t think it’ll ever be a classic, I am happy it made the list this year.
