Today’s Throwback Thursday is a twofer!

On this day in 1981 Rolling Stones put on its largest performance at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with nearly 100 thousand people in the audience.

Prince, who was lesser known at the time, opened for them. Although the Rolling Stones enjoyed Prince’s music their audience did not. He didn’t make it through his third song before leaving the stage because the boos were so aggressive.

We all know Prince recovered from the shame of this performance and became an icon. Let this be a little reminder that failure doesn't always me defeat!

Gene Simmons passed out while driving and hit another vehicle with his SUV.

The incident is being contributed to Gene Simmon's new medication that he has been put on, and by his own report, he's a bad driver anyway. Witnesses quickly called 911 and he has been on the mend without live-threatening injury.

“Thanks, everybody, for the kind wishes,” Simmons posted on social media. “I’m completely fine. I had a slight fender bender. It happens. Especially to those of us were horrible drivers. And that’s me. All is well.”

Tom Petty was a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was the frontman of the rock bands Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers; Mudcrutch and a member of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys.

Over the course of his career, Petty sold more than 80 million records worldwide. Tom Petty also had a somewhat successful acting career, appearing on movies and television from 1978 to 2009. His most notable and maybe overlooked role was as the voice of Elroy "Lucky" Kleinschmidt in the animated comedy series King of the Hill.

In October 1st of 2017 Tom Petty's second wife, Dana York, found Petty unconscious in their California home. After a day on life support, he passed away on October 2nd. His cause of death was ruled an accidental overdose at the age of 66.

With the reboot of King of the Hill, people are being reminded that Tom Petty was apart of the original series bringing his name back to headlines. His music continues to inspire us and is featured in various commercials on television and is played on our station 24/7!
