So let me get this right…

The trend right now is to order food from people off Facebook marketplace that is made in their home where they could be cooking in bare feet, no shirt, no hairnets, raw food just sitting out, fridge not working, no hand washing, some 8 year old kid slicing vegetables, using 5 year old seasonings they found under the oven, etc, etc.

But some of you still have the audacity to walk into a restaurant and ask for the sanitation grade? What?!

Well everyone meet Veronica!

Long post ahead…

Veronica is a year old and the SPCA of The Triad was kind enough to bring her by today so we could meet and spend a little time together. She recently had kittens and now she is ready for her forever home. Which will be my home. I never thought I’d have another pet this fast. But what I quickly realized is that Cora not only loved me but she gave me purpose each day. I want that again. After receiving a very nice email from the SPCA about Cora I of course went on their website just to look and who do I find on the very last page at the bottom of the page? Veronica. Our meeting today went great. She is full of life, she loves all the people, she pulled out her toy to play, and she seemed to like me. So Veronica will move in next Thursday. There will never be another Cora. I will never be able to replace her, nor do I want to. But I also feel like I still have a lot of love to give and adopting Veronica will be great for both of us. When I walked in the door today I looked at Cora’s portrait and told her she is getting a Sister. Just a cat sister. Lol

I know a cat is very different from a dog. I’m sure cat owners have lots of tips and please feel free to share them. She will be an indoor cat.

So we begin our trial adoption period in one week. I’ve been putting things in my Chewy shopping cart for 2 days so guess it’s time to order. Mastercard is about to love me…

So if you thought I was done taking pictures of my pets you’re wrong!

I had my big man with a little dog era, now I’m entering into my big man with a little cat era.

Thank you again for all the support over the last few weeks. I hope you all will enjoying watching Veronica grow as much as you did Cora.

Niece 1 - “Wow that went quick! I felt like we were only there an hour.”

I know. It sounds tragic.
But honestly? It just means I get the fancy treats.

I ride great in the car, walk nicely on leash, know "sit," and take treats gently. I really enjoy being around people. Kids, adults, strangers who become friends five minutes later... I love them all.

I'm heartworm negative, my adoption fee is half sponsored, and I'd do best in a home without cats.

Mostly, though, I'm just looking for my next person.
Because being somebody's girl?
That was always my favorite thing. 💛

Just wanted to say thank you for all the kind comments and messages about Cora. I never thought I would take losing her so hard. My entire life revolved around her without even realizing it, and now that she is gone I have to find a way to adjust. I truly have never felt a sadness or pain like this. Which I feel weird saying because you think to yourself it’s a dog but she was so much more to me. People come and go but she was always there every single day for 14 years. I know it will get better with time and eventually the pain will turn to fond memories. I want to say thank you to Chris Kelly, BB Shea, and Rachel for letting me have the last few days to grieve. I will be back Monday morning ready to move forward. ~ Biggie

Cora crossed the Rainbow Bridge this morning. She had a brief illness that turned serious quickly. She and I spent 14 years together. Basically 1/3 of my life was spent with her. She loved me and everyone unconditionally. She was my best friend. She saw me at my best and my worst and loved me no matter what. There will never ever be another dog like her. Thank you all for always caring about her and watching her grow with me. Special thank you to my family, Amy, Dave, Doug, Scottie, Stephanie, Katie, Ashleigh, Kimberly, Michelle, Uncle Alex, and Uncle Drew for being a part of her life at different times. Thank you to both Dr. Murray’s, Dr. Evans and the staff at West Market Veterinary Clinic in Greensboro NC. They provided exceptional care for her from the time she was a puppy till now. Thank you to Dr. Daves with Laps Of Love for providing wonderful, compassionate end of life care for her. Cora was a rescue dog. If I can say one thing it’s there are a lot of great dogs out there who need good homes. Please consider rescuing a dog or cat from a shelter or local animal adoption organization. Thank you again for all the prayers and support, it has meant the world to me.** Biggie
