⛵️RACING ON THE NEUSE🌊
Did you know that the Neuse River derives its name from the Native American Neusiok tribe and translates to “peace” This is also the river I grew up sailing on.
Last month, YMCA Camp Sea Gull and YMCA Camp Seafarer & held their Optimist Southeast Championship race on this river and I had the honor in capturing it all! With 100 young sailors they held their own on this mighty river that spans 4 miles.
From the volunteers, the staff, race committee, leadership team, and all that made it possible.
The river lived up to its meaning as it was the perfect weekend for racing in Eastern North Carolina!
