Democratic Women of Craven County is an active member of the Democratic Women of North Carolina, which is dedicated to engaging women with the work of the Democratic Party. We work to get women to vote, support women who run for office, and work to get Democrats up and down the ticket elected (especially if they are women!). We also represent the voice of the women of North Carolina to th

e North Carolina Democratic Party. If you cannot abide by these standards, do not post on this page. If you do not abide by these standards, your posts will be removed from the page.
1. Be respectful. No name calling or hateful language. Use a respectful tone when speaking to others on this page.
2. No posting for fundraising purposes. Do not solicit funds for yourself or your candidates on this page.
3. We do not allow posts that sling mud, denigrate, or negatively campaign against Democrats.

đź“ŁAdvocacy Alert: Protect Voter Registration Access!

The U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) is considering a rule requiring proof of citizenship—like a passport or birth certificate—on the national mail voter registration form. This unnecessary barrier would make it harder for eligible citizens, especially seniors, students, and rural residents, to register to vote.

The current form already protects election integrity. This proposal threatens it.

Public comments are open until October 20—every voice matters. Let's flood the site to show we see this backdoor attempt to restrict voting access.

It passed! Voters supported the $24 million bond referendum to fund improvements in Streets & Sidewalks, Parks & Recreation, and Stormwater during yesterday's election. Next, the Board of Aldermen will take steps to certify the election results & legally formalize the bonds before issuing them. More information & next steps at www.NewBernNC.gov/BondReferendum.
