I replaced my cheap lamp on my desk with this antique.
It was my grandfather's lamp (we all called him Papa) that sat on his desk for more than my entire existence. He hunched over that desk to do his insurance work until he retired. Then, he continued to use this lamp as he paid household bills and balanced his checkbook until he was too ill from cancer to do it anymore.
My grandmother kept the desk and lamp as an unspoken shrine to him in the corner of the living room until she also passed. Now, I will use the lamp to illuminate my desk when the harsh overhead lights are too much in my office.. 🧡🧡🧡
