“Why should I use a travel agent when I can book the trip myself?”
It’s a fair question—and the truth is, anyone can book a trip online. You can also complete certifications and learn about destinations. But being a great travel advisor goes far beyond making a reservation.
The real value becomes clear when something happens before or during your trip.
It’s the personal relationships I build with my clients and the trusted supplier partners I work with every day. It’s answering the dreaded phone call when a flight gets canceled, a transfer doesn’t arrive, or plans suddenly fall apart. It’s being there early in the morning, late at night, and even on weekends when my clients need me.
Recently, my clients had a flight canceled. I immediately helped get their rental car rebooked and contacted their hotel to explain that they would miss their first night.
Another client experienced a problem with a transfer company. I stepped in, handled the situation, and I’m working to secure their refund.
Then, on a Friday night, another client’s local transportation company canceled their airport pickup at the last minute. So, at 11:30 p.m., I met my clients and personally drove them home.
Why would I do that? Because my clients are more than confirmation numbers or transactions. We have met in person, built relationships, and developed trust.
