Kappa Alpha Psi’s Edward S. Jones Represents OBTT at Texas Veterans Job Fair-Con in Round Rock

ROUND ROCK – (July 24, 2025) Bro. Edward S Jones, a dedicated member of the New Braunfels Alumni Chapter (NBAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., was among the community leaders who participated in the 2025 Job Fair-Con, held at the Kalahari Convention Center in Round Rock, Texas. The large-scale employment event was hosted by the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) with support from the Texas Veterans Leadership Program (TVLP), the Texas Workforce Commission, and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, a proud partner of the American Job Center Network.

With 120 employers and organizations in attendance and 1,253 of the 2,046 job seekers registered attending, the event served as a critical connection point for veterans, transitioning service members, and career changers throughout Central Texas.

Jones, who serves as the Austin-Central Texas Employment Resource Coordinator (ERC) for Serco Inc. under the Department of Labor’s pilot program, Off-Base Transition Training (OBTT), was a featured guest of Jessica Buerger, Central Texas District Supervisor of Veterans Employment Services at TVC, and Isaac Marquez-Diaz, Veteran Employer Liaison and event lead.

Throughout the event, Jones shared information about OBTT’s employment readiness workshops and transition assistance resources with attendees, speaking to more than 150 veterans and job seekers. His presence further highlighted the growing partnership between OBTT and TVC's district offices, which now host monthly OBTT workshops at four different American Job Centers.

“This event represents the power of community collaboration and our shared commitment to those who have served,” said Jones. “I’m proud to work alongside Jessica Buerger and her incredible team to help veterans successfully navigate their transition to civilian careers.”

Employers at Job Fair-Con included a diverse mix of nonprofit organizations, law enforcement agencies, institutions of higher education, and leading companies in the technology and healthcare sectors. Jones’s engagement reflected his ongoing mission not only as a fraternity brother and veteran but as a passionate advocate for employment equity and opportunity for all service members, their spouses, and dependents.

NBAC’s Edward S. Jones Serves as Judge in Electrifying “Who Got the Juice” DJ Tournament Finale

UNIVERSAL CITY– The energy was electric on the evening of July 9, 2025, as the final battle of the “Who Got the Juice” DJ Tournament took center stage at the Triple Double Lounge. Among the notable figures in attendance was Bro. Edward S. Jones, Keeper of Records (KOR) for the New Braunfels Alumni Chapter (NBAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., who served as one of five esteemed judges for the high-stakes musical showdown.

Launched earlier this year, the tournament began with 16 of the region’s most talented DJs, each vying for the top title and the coveted grand prize of $1,000 cash, a custom championship trophy, and a professionally designed media kit. After weeks of competition, it all came down to a thrilling face-off between DJ Ammunition and DJ A1, two crowd favorites with distinct styles and undeniable stage presence.

The final round gave each DJ 15 minutes to showcase their skills, seamlessly blending classic hits, new school flavor, and impressive turntable techniques. With basslines thumping and the crowd on their feet, both competitors delivered jaw-dropping performances that kept energy levels high throughout their respective sets.

“It was a very close call,” said Bro. Edward S. Jones, who has become known throughout the Central Texas creative community not only for his role in NBAC but also for his leadership in media, photography, and veteran outreach. “Both DJs showed remarkable artistry, timing, and crowd engagement. But DJ A1 edged it out with just the right mix of musical creativity and performance control.”

Jones, a veteran U.S. Marine and community leader, was joined on the judging panel by four other influential figures in the DJ and entertainment industry, including veteran disc jockeys and local social media personalities. The panel evaluated each performance based on originality, technical skill, crowd response, and overall stage presence.

The judges ultimately crowned DJ A1 as the 2025 “Who Got the Juice” Champion, but both competitors received strong praise and standing ovations for their exceptional talents.

“This event showcased the vibrancy of our local music scene,” Jones added. “It’s more than a competition, it’s a celebration of culture, skill, and community.”

Bro. Jones, and actor himself, continues to embody the mission of Kappa Alpha Psi through his service, outreach, and dedication to cultural enrichment across the region. His involvement in events like “Who Got the Juice” reflects NBAC’s broader commitment to engaging with diverse aspects of community life from mentorship and public service to the support of artistic expression.

The event marked a successful close to the 2025 DJ tournament, and organizers say plans are already underway for an even bigger 2026 competition.

NBAC Continues Flood Relief Efforts with San Antonio Food Bank in Kerrville

By Bro. Edward S Jones, Keeper of Records, NBAC

KERRVILLE — The New Braunfels Alumni Chapter (NBAC) of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., returned to Kerrville, Texas, for its second consecutive day of community service, partnering once again with the San Antonio Food Bank to aid residents impacted by the devastating floods that have recently swept through Central Texas.

Today’s relief efforts were staged at the Doble L Ranch, where flood victims, or designated representatives, drove through well-organized distribution lines to receive critical food and emergency supplies. Volunteers from NBAC, community partners, and the Food Bank worked hand in hand to load vehicles with everything from dry goods and produce to cleaning products and water, offering a helping hand and a sense of hope to those in need.

Representing the New Braunfels Alumni Chapter were Bro. Marc Granville, Chapter Keeper of Exchequer (KOE); Bro. Brian Guillory, Chapter Strategus; Bro. Daniel Johnson, Chapter Reporter; and Bro. George Cox, Director of Procurement for the San Antonio Food Bank and active NBAC member. These brothers exemplified NBAC’s enduring commitment to service and leadership through action.

“Today was another powerful example of how collective effort and fraternity service can make a real difference,” said Bro. Granville. “This isn’t just about food, it’s about showing up, supporting our communities, and being present for our neighbors in difficult times.”

Bro. George Cox, who serves in a leadership role with the San Antonio Food Bank, emphasized the importance of collaborative outreach. “We are incredibly grateful to have our NBAC brothers here,” said Cox. “The partnership between the Fraternity and the Food Bank has been instrumental in ensuring resources are delivered efficiently and compassionately to the people of Kerrville.”

Just like the previous day’s effort, vehicles lined up early as word spread quickly throughout the area about the organized and accessible support provided by the food distribution event. Volunteers showed empathy, urgency, and unity as they served dozens of families still struggling to recover from the storm’s aftermath.

The New Braunfels Alumni Chapter remains steadfast in its mission to embody the core values of Kappa Alpha Psi, achievement, community engagement, and public service. Their continued support in areas like Kerrville demonstrates the Fraternity's broad impact across South and Central Texas and beyond.

As recovery efforts continue, NBAC stands ready to assist however necessary. Their dedication to being a beacon of hope and a source of strength for displaced families underscores a core belief of the Chapter: *When communities are in crisis, Kappa men step up*.

Today’s efforts provided 90 families.
