Vice President Reaffirms Commitment to Quranic Tarbiyah and Moral Leadership
The Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to nurturing a generation guided by revelation, grounded in reality, and dedicated to carrying forward the noble legacy of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Speaking during the Quranic Tarbiyah retreat and capacity-building engagement, the Vice President commended the vision of Quranic Tarbiyah, which focuses on nurturing a Qur’anic generation rooted in faith, character, discipline, and responsible leadership. He described the initiative as timely and vital to national development, emphasizing that moral education must go hand in hand with academic and professional excellence.
“The future of our nation depends not only on skills and knowledge, but on values,” the Vice President noted. “A generation guided by the Qur’an, grounded in reality, and inspired by the Prophetic legacy will contribute meaningfully to peace, unity, and sustainable development.”
The retreat brought together educators, scholars, and community leaders to reflect on Qur’anic values, leadership, accountability, teamwork, and national unity within the Ummah. Sessions focused on iman and tazkiyah, adab and akhlaq, fiqh and ‘ubudiyyah, as well as practical applications of Qur’anic principles in daily life and organizational leadership.
The Vice President praised Quranic Tarbiyah for its holistic approach to education and character development, reaffirming government support for initiatives that promote ethical leadership, social responsibility, and national cohesion.
The program concluded with a renewed call for collective action to raise a Qur’anic generation that embodies faith, integrity, service, and commitment to the progress of Sierra Leone. Part 9
