Laurel High’s Lexi Krol knotted the game up early for her team at the plate and capped it off with the final RBI of the contest against the Lady Bucs, 7-1, to win the PIAA Class 2A crown.

Laurel High’s Riley Balcom goes the distance in the pitcher’s circle to win the first-ever PIAA title for her softball team. Balcom posted five Ks and gave up four hits to knock off Char-Houston, 7-1, on Friday at State College.

Union High’s Korynne Shannon goes the distance in the circle at the PIAA Class 1A championship to defeat Holy Cross, 7-3, to become a two-time state champ and help her team win back-to-back crowns.

2. Irelyn Fisher led at the plate for the Lady Scots after belting a two-run home run out of Lilley Field for the final score against Carmichaels.

3. Union’s Korynne Shannon makes her first WPIAL championship start in the circle, strikes out nine and helps her team claim back-to-back titles.

The Lady Scots roll into the PIAA playoffs looking to defend the State title they won last season.

The Neshannock High softball team falls short of five straight WPIAL Class 2A titles on Wednesday against Bentworth, 4-1. The Lady Lancers now set their sights on defending their PIAA 2A crown.

Cody W. Pattison caught up with Neshannock High baseball coach John Quahliero a/k/a Coach Q after his team captured the WPIAL crown for the first time since 2015. Eleven years in the making. This is the Lancers’ seventh District title.

Extra shout out to Coach Q’s dog, Spike, and hoping he gets better.
