A few weeks back, I was invited to do a lecture at the Pittsburgh West Trout unlimited. I decided to speak on something that was very untypical for that type of crowd. My talk was a bit more philosophical. Yet, incredibly pertinent to humanity, let alone the world and culture fly fishing. I was invited to do a lecture for the Pittsburgh West trout Unlimited, November 10 at 7 PM. Located at “the barn,“ on the campus of Christchurch at Grove Farm. There will be a few trout fishing tips, but this is a slightly unique lecture. Come join us and support a good cause as well.

In honor of fallen Navy SEAL, Tyrone Woods, our 2025 Ty Woods Memorial Hunt with Ty's father, Charles Woods, was another amazing time to enjoy God's creation and share a rich time of fellowship and camaraderie. This year's participant was Travis Kiser, a Marine veteran who did deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan with Fox 2/7 as a SAW gunner.

After a brutal hunting opportunity last year in Colorado that was upended by a blizzard, Travis participated in this year's Ty Woods Memorial Hunt with Charles Woods and CTD Oregon Hunting/Fishing Coordinator, Andy Marcum. Though it required patience and prayer, Travis fully enjoyed the beauty of eastern Oregon in September, as well as the success of harvesting a great bull and bringing home some quality meat! As the capstone of this experience, Travis also decided to recommit his life to following Jesus, getting baptized in the Wallowa Lake.
"Before I went to Iraq, I got baptized...sort of like a good luck charm. But I got back and knew something had to change."
