Hey Front Range climbers and other CO climbing visitors. Authorities have just closed Rifle Mountain Park due to the fires close by to the north. We were in the canyon yesterday and the smoke was surreal. Even worse now. Praying for rain!

We've been working on the new edition of our local guidebook, Western Sloper, so there have been lots of excuses to get out in the western Colorado hills during this beautiful wet spring. In all my years in the valley I've never seen this 200-foot waterfall form before. Amazing! If you're thinking of climbing Kryptonite anytime soon, bring an umbrella!
