What a nice surprise! On August 31, 2024, TAF took a matted and emaciated little dog into our care. After months of nursing Bitsy back to health, she found a wonderful forever home. Her new mom sent me the photo on the right to show me just how wonderful Bitsy is doing... talk about a glow up! So thankful that Bitsy's mom took the time to send an update. We love you Bitsy!

—He spotted her near the park, aimlessly wandering, coat matted and eyes full of uncertainty. She had no collar, no ID—just a gentle, quiet way of looking at people that said, “Please see me.” So he did. Thinking he was just helping a lost dog find her way, he scooped her up and brought her to the shelter. He filled out the paperwork, gave her a few pats on the head, and walked away.
But something felt...unfinished. That night, her face kept popping into his mind 🥹

The way she leaned into his hand. The way her tail hesitated, then wagged. He told himself someone would come for her. A family. A friend. Someone. But when he called a few days later, she was still there—waiting.

And in that moment, he realized: she wasn’t lost anymore. She had already found her person. When her stray hold ended, he returned. Not as a good Samaritan, but as her dad.💕

The moment she saw him again, she lit up—tail thumping, eyes sparkling, as if she’d been waiting the whole time. Now, she sleeps curled at the foot of his bed, follows him room to room, and reminds him every day: some souls are meant to find each other. He thought he was helping a lost dog. But in truth, she was the one who rescued him. 💛

Robert Redford’s life has been filled with triumphs, but behind the success lies a story of profound heartbreak. In 1959, when he was only 22 years old, Redford and his then-wife Lola lost their first child, Scott Anthony Redford, to sudden infant death syndrome at just two and a half months old. It was a tragedy that shook the young couple to their core, leaving scars that would stay with Robert forever.

Redford rarely spoke about it publicly, but when he did, his words revealed the depth of his grief: “It was a devastating loss that’s impossible to explain. You never really get over something like that. The pain is always there—it just changes over time.”

This loss would shape him as a man and as an artist. He later admitted that the heartbreak fueled his drive to find meaning in his work, in nature, and in fatherhood. His surviving children, Shauna, Jamie, and Amy, became his anchor. He once reflected: “You realize how fragile life is, and it makes you hold on tighter to the people you love.”

Even decades later, Redford carried Scott’s memory with him. In interviews, when discussing his dedication to family or his protective nature as a father, he would sometimes pause, and the shadow of that early loss could be felt. Friends said it gave him a deeper empathy, one that audiences sensed in the vulnerable, human characters he brought to the screen.

As Redford himself put it: “Outwardly you go on with your life, but inside, a piece of you is always missing.”

🌍❤️ From “Witch Child” to Graduate: Hope’s Unbelievable Journey

In 2016, photos of a starving little boy wandering naked in a Nigerian village shocked the world. He had been abandoned by his own family after being accused of witchcraft — a superstition that still grips parts of Africa, where thousands of children are branded as “witches” and subjected to abuse, neglect, or even death.

That boy’s name was Hope.

Enter Anja Ringgren Lovén, a Danish humanitarian who founded Land of Hope, a charity dedicated to rescuing these so-called “witch children.” She found Hope malnourished, weak, and left to die. The haunting photo of her giving him water went viral — but more importantly, it saved his life.

Fast forward to 2025 → Hope just walked across a stage in his cap and gown to graduate primary school. 🎓 From starving on the streets to smiling with a diploma in his hand — it’s the kind of full-circle moment that proves what love and second chances can do.

Sadly, Hope’s story is just one of many. In some communities, children are accused of witchcraft because of poverty, disability, illness, or even simply being different. These beliefs are fueled by fear, misinformation, and sometimes exploitation by corrupt pastors who charge families for “exorcisms.”

But people like Anja — and organizations like Land of Hope — are fighting back, rescuing kids, giving them homes, education, and dignity.

🚴‍♂️ Did you know?

The very first two-seater bicycle was invented by two English acrobats — Charles Tripp, who was born without arms, and Eli Bowen, who was born without legs.

When asked what inspired them, their answer was simple and powerful:
“Impossibility. We had no excuses, no other option. We had to live, we had to work — so we created it.”

Their story reminds us of something vital: every time we face the word “impossible,” there is always a way forward.

In truth, impossible is often just a word for those who give up too soon. 🌟

25-year-old Michael Parnell knew his days were limited. Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare genetic disease that weakens connective tissue, Michael endured countless surgeries and relentless pain. Yet he carried every burden with grace, compassion, and a love for life that inspired everyone around him.

More than anything, Michael had one final wish: to see snow before he went to Heaven. On January 21st, 2025, South Alabama—where snow is rare—was blanketed with nine inches. Michael breathed in the crisp air, smiling as snowflakes fell around him. Six days later, he passed peacefully, leaving a family grateful for the miracle they believe was an answer to his prayer.

Michael’s life was defined by generosity and service. At 13, he founded Soles4U, donating over 5,000 pairs of shoes to children in need. He spent his graduation money buying a head of cows for others and traveled on mission trips, always giving selflessly. Even as his health declined, his joy and compassion never waned.

On what would have been his 26th birthday, his family remembers him not in sorrow alone but in gratitude—for his life, his love, and the miraculous snowfall that marked his final days. Michael’s mother, Tia, is working to place a headstone for him, one that will include a guitar, a symbol of the music and joy he brought into the world.

Michael’s story reminds us that true greatness is measured not in years lived, but in the love and kindness shared. His legacy lives on in every life he touched, in the snow that fell just in time, and in the hearts of his family.
