Magpies magpies is a collective that explores indiepublishing, performed poetry, visual media, & others Magpies was founded in 2013.

UP Los Banos-based independently publishing collaborative & experimental collective. Our works explore zine-making, visual media, performed poetry and other alternative forms that emphasize experimentation, collaborative work, and criticism. We explore the intimate relationship of media and art objects, and the immediate Los Banos society, and other wider contexts. We create zines, music, poetry,

fiction, stickers, posters, photo prints, performances, and things in between. We also organize and host events and venues for exchange between artists and the local community. Events:
ZINE ORGY
-organized in collaboration with Asshulz, a zine expo featuring performances, film screenings, and other activities for independently/self-publishing local artists
DEEP THOUGHT
-a series of intimate discussions with local artists about the work they do
