Grand-Paws Senior Sanctuary

Grand-Paws Senior Sanctuary Grand-paws mission is to rescue primarily large breed senior dogs who've been abandoned. When appropriate, we attempt to find permanent, loving homes for them.

We rescue from local high-kill shelters and let them live out their lives in our sanctuary or in one of our wonderful foster homes: happy, safe, and loved. However, we choose the large breed seniors because they are the least likely to be adopted from the shelters. People don't realize the joy you receive from rescuing a senior dog. oper nutrition, exercise, and love is extraordinary. They may be a little slow, hard of hearing, have deteriorating eyesight, and a graying muzzle, but there's still charm and dignity in these old dogs yet. Despite their condition they never feel sorry for themselves. Young or old, they all have so much to offer and so much love to give.

It took another five days before Allison and the kids, whom she named Andy, Amara, and Ashton, could go home. When it was finally time, Allison expected Adam to be happy. However, their drive home was silent and tense.

"Is everything okay?" Allison asked her husband. He shrugged and grunted.

As soon as they got home, the man asked if the kids needed anything. Allison smiled, thinking he was finally getting the hang of the triplets. "The kids ran out of diapers at the hospital. Could you go and buy some?" she asked.

Adam nodded. "Sure. I'll be back soon," he said before walking out of the house.

At that moment, Allison had no idea that her husband would never return home—and that she would not see him again for eight years, until an unexpected encounter.

I (23F) had been saving for over a year for a sleek flat-screen TV, not huge, but perfect for my tiny apartment — and for watching a childhood video my late mom made. When I finally bought it, it felt like my reward for working hard.

My dad remarried two years ago to Patricia. We're civil, not close. A week after I got the TV, Dad and Patricia came for dinner. She ran her hand along it and said, "Ours is old. Tell your dad to get me one like this." I laughed it off, saying they're expensive. She shot back, "Well, then you MUST help. You've got yours." When I said I couldn't, she muttered, "UNGRATEFUL."

Two weeks later, while I was at work, Patricia stopped by to drop off mail. That night, I found my TV screen smashed — not a crack, but obliterated.

I called Dad; Patricia answered. "Total accident," she said. "I was dusting and it… slipped." The TV sat on a stable stand — you don't just "slip" and destroy it.

My gut told me it wasn't an accident. I asked her to put Dad on the phone. ⬇️
