💔 A FINAL CALL OF DUTY — TWO DEPUTIES LOST 💔
Deputy Sheriff Theresa King and Deputy Sheriff Patrick Rohrer were carrying out a routine prisoner transport when a moment of sudden violence changed everything inside the Wyandotte County facility.
While unloading the detainee in the exterior sally port, the situation escalated in seconds as the suspect attacked and disarmed one of the deputies, leading to a tragic exchange of gunfire.
Even in the chaos and severe injuries, courage did not fade—one deputy managed to return fire, preventing further harm before help could arrive.
Both deputies were rushed for urgent medical care, but Deputy Theresa King later passed away from her injuries, leaving behind a void felt deeply by those who served beside her.
Deputy King dedicated 13 years of service and is remembered as a devoted mother of three who carried both strength and compassion into her work every day.
Deputy Patrick Rohrer served for seven years, remembered as a loyal protector and loving family man survived by his wife, children, and loved ones who now carry his memory forward.
In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, two families, a department, and an entire community are left honoring lives defined by service, courage, and sacrifice.
🕊️ May their dedication never be forgotten, and may their memory live on in every life they touched.
