Last week my husband and I decided to go to the shelter and get a puppy. We wanted to give a warm home to a little one in need. Upon arrival, we saw these two adorable puppies, saved by rescuers after losing their mother in a tragic accident. Their story was heartbreaking, and their sad little looks moved us immediately.
We had initially planned to adopt only one little female. After some hesitation, we chose one of the two, thinking it would be enough. But something stopped us. While we were filling out the paperwork, we noticed both puppies seemed completely upset about being separated. They hugged each other, their eyes filled with sadness, as if they knew they were going to be far from each other.
Seeing this scene broke our hearts. We looked at each other, and without even needing to speak, we knew what to do. How could we ever separate them? These little beings had already lost so much in their short lives. So we decided to adopt them both.
This picture was taken on our way home from their adoption. You can see them, snuggled up on my lap, as if to reassure each other. They are finally safe, together, and ready to start a new life in a home where they will be loved and protected.
Seeing them like this, I have no doubt that we made the right decision. Seeing them so close, so peaceful, reminds us how much they need each other. We are happy that we were able to offer them not only a home, but the opportunity to stay together, as they deserve.
These two innocent little souls have been through some tough times, but today marks the beginning of a new adventure for them, filled with love, play and tenderness. We can't wait to give them everything they never had. It's the beginning of a beautiful story for them... and for us
