Over the holidays I finally built an isolation booth and did a bunch of rewiring / reconfiguring in the Studio. Really looking forward to all the great sessions coming up here in the next few weeks. There are still a few random dates left in January, come record your songs !
If you don’t live geographically nearby , I can mix your songs as well as add instrumentation such as Pedal Steel, Guitar, Keys, Percussion

Really looking forward to playing at this public house concert in my home town of Hamden. I’ll be joined on stage by Sean Oreilly on keys/harp and David Chevan on upright bass. We are sharing the show with a great band called Little silver Steve Curtis and Erika Simonian. Show starts at 1:30

Jonny got in last night after a long flight and layover from the west coast. He hadn’t seen the studio in its current format so of course we ended up down there playing music until 1am !
I can’t believe we haven’t played music together in 5 years. The synchronicity of our unit came right back in a flash!! This is going to be a joyful week !

21 years ago today, with less than $300 in my bank account, I opened “The Space” with the support of an amazing wife, as well as a huge team of friends and musicians. I was in my 20s and had only been married for 18 months, we were expecting our first child. I had just finished up a 10 year stretch of touring with Mighty Purple which had started in my teens. I had no plans to spend the next 15 YEARS fully engrossed in building and developing a full blown music complex but that’s exactly what happened !

My actual blood, sweat and tears are in those walls. Every ounce of passion in my soul went into every aspect of “The Spaces”. From swinging hammers as we built each of the 3 venues, to curating 20+ events/shows per month as well as the arduous task of navigating permits, and frankly some major obsticals from my town and several extremely grumpy town officials, who almost prevented the place from opening at all. (Thank God for Mimsie Coleman who was a huge advocate for me and helped me get through many of the town hurdles) In that first year my wife and my friends Dave , Beth Coccaro Chris Lough
and the YWAM team, took my pipe dream and helped me make it a reality. With the help of hundreds of amazing people over the years, I gradually took over 3 buildings in the complex and turned it into a music mecha. I worked 60-80 hours a week for my entire tenure as founder, sole owner and director. My mission from day 1 was to create a safe and positive atmosphere where people of all ages could come together to express through song, art and ideas. Honestly at first, I had no Idea what I was doing, but I learned everyday in a trial by fire. I had some of the greatest times in my life there and also some of my absolute most challenging. I was blessed to know thousands of amazing people (many of whom I still know and love). I will venture to say that I saw more bands and performers than 99% of you ever will in your lifetime. To all of you who worked tirelessly alongside me to make “The Spaces” the special and unique place that they became, I want to say thank you again!! You made dreams come true for me and for so many others. With all of this said, if you have a dream, don’t push it off ! Don’t wait “ until “you have enough money” or “until after you retire” , finish college or what ever else you have put up as an obstacle to start chasing your dreams and true purpose in life. Go get it and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t. What ever your dream is , do it for the right reasons, be a good human and follow that voice inside you, the pure voice that speaks to you in your quietest moments.
