Dean Pamela Schirmeister supervised a senior essay 25 years ago. At her daughter's law school graduation, she was introduced to a professor who exclaimed, "You advised my senior essay!" A connection made long ago came full circle in a beautiful way. It's incredible to see former students grow and thrive.

Students are often at the cutting edge, understanding and utilizing AI tools in ways that many faculty members don't. This isn't about judgment, but adaptation.

To create programs that resonate, start with student voices. Let their experiences guide the direction. It will evolve beyond what you imagined. Your role? Provide the microphone and the resources. Then, challenge assumptions, explore possibilities, and listen. It's about partnership and timing.
