Please do me a solid and DM or drop your favorite pickle recipes below. Iā€™m looking for:

* A really good dill
* A spicy dill
* And a sweet pickle thatā€™s not too sweetā€¦ the kind you chop up for chicken salad, tuna salad, or deviled eggs.

This old snapping turtle makes the trip between the ponds a couple times a year.

I know itā€™s the same one because of the chip missing from the back of its shell. With all the nearby townā€™s construction nearby this year, I honestly thought it was gone. Then this morningā€¦ there it was outside the chicken coop. And I donā€™t think itā€™s ever met this yearā€™s baby chicks because they were completely fascinated.

: Common snapping turtles can live 30ā€“50+ years, and some are thought to live even longer. šŸ˜³

So hereā€™s my questions for youā€¦ How old do you think this is? And is it a male or a female?

This tiny dragonfly is an Eastern Amberwing. Those golden ā€œstained glassā€ wings arenā€™t just prettyā€”theyā€™re attached to one of the best mosquito hunters youā€™ll ever invite into your garden. šŸ¤©

Sourdough discard pizza turned into two easy dinners:

garden tomatoes, fresh basil, chicken, and creamy goat cheese for the adults. Chicken Parmesan for the kids. One regular. One -free .

I love finding ways to use what we already haveā€”from the discard to the and tomatoes fresh from the garden. Some of our favorite meals start with the things we almost overlooked.

Garden mysteryā€”actual insect experts needed.

I found this firmly attached to the top of a green-pepper leaf in North Carolina. It looked like one large, perfectly organized white insect, but when I gently nudged it with a blade of grass, it separated into extremely lightweight, uniform piecesā€”almost like a delicate seed head.

It did not appear fluffy or cottony. Nothing visibly crawled or jumped away, and none of the common comparison photos for mealybugs, lacewing eggs, stink bug eggs, planthopper wax or treehopper eggs truly match its shape.

I have clear close-ups and video. Entomologists, Master Gardeners and serious insect people: what exactly is this? Because the internet has offered six identities, and the evidence has rejected all six. šŸ˜‚
