Confession – 23F:
I think I fell in love with my best friend.
It wasn’t supposed to happen. We were just friends — late-night talks, memes, random calls that lasted until sunrise. He was the person I could tell everything to, except this one thing.
I started noticing the small stuff — how his laugh made me smile, how my day felt empty if I didn’t talk to him. I tried to ignore it, to stay “just friends.” But every time he talked about another girl, my heart quietly broke.
I never told him. I didn’t want to ruin what we had. He’s happy now — I saw his photo with her yesterday. They look perfect together.
So I’ll keep pretending. Pretending I’m fine, pretending I never wanted him. Maybe someday I’ll move on… but tonight, I just miss my best friend

I think I ruined myself waiting for someone who never looked back.
She used to tell me everything — her dreams, her secrets, even her heartbreaks. And I listened, every single time, pretending it didn’t hurt when she talked about another guy.
I became her “safe place,” but never her choice.
I watched her fall in love, watched her smile for someone else, and still couldn’t hate her. Because love doesn’t disappear when it’s not returned… it just quietly changes into pain you learn to live with.
Maybe in another lifetime, she’ll see what I felt. But in this one, I’ll just smile and say, “I’m happy for you.”

I think I fell in love with someone who never even noticed.

But the truth is, every time she smiles, I forget how to breathe. Every time she talks about someone she likes, I feel this quiet pain I can’t explain.
I never told her. I couldn’t. She deserves someone confident, not someone terrified of losing her.
Yesterday, she sent me a picture with her new boyfriend. She looked so happy… and I smiled back, pretending it didn’t hurt.

For months, Aarav admired her from a distance — in the canteen, during fests, at seminars. Every time she smiled, his world lit up. And finally, one day, he decided to tell her how he felt.
With trembling hands and a racing heart, he stood in front of her and said softly,

“Riya… I know I’m not perfect, but I like you — truly.”

She laughed.
Not a nervous laugh, but a cold one.

“You? Look at yourself, Aarav. You don’t even belong to my level. Don’t waste my time.”
