Trenton City Museum is presenting a free jazz concert this Friday, July 18, at the museum’s Ellarslie Mansion in Cadwalader Park. Artist and Arts News Now contributor Gary Giordano recently penned a poetic reflection to accompany a new series of paintings he’s developing. Today, we’re happy to have the opportunity to share a glimpse into his creative process — beginning with his reflective sketches and words which are an exploration of identity, memory, and transformation.:

I was once a tiger.

I lived in the jungle.

I growled and roared.

I was a leader and a fighter,

But now I live in the mountains.

Cast iron and fabricated steel
6’ x 3’ x 2’ by Jennifer Rubin in the borough of New Hope, PA (outside Gallery Piquel) and is part of the Outdoor Public Arts Program by New Hope Arts. Rubin’s former piece on view at the site was called to be on show out of state and “Formed to Fit” was warmly welcomed in its place.

Ten of 119 exhibiting artists received awards during the Artists and Members Reception for Ellarslie Open 42 Saturday, June 21, at Trenton City Museum. The 2025 edition of the annual juried exhibition showcases 124 diverse works by artists of the greater Trenton and Bucks County areas and throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York – and one from North Carolina. The exhibition is on view now through September 7th, 2025.
