River Rat News, New Hope, TN RRN refuses to be that slave.

RRN has chosen not to be monetized because there is a saying "he that pays the piper calls the tune" meaning that publications who rely on advertising becomes a slave to the advertisers.

To the followers and readers of RRN:
Apologies, it appears that that changes were made that the creator was not aware of. RRN is truly public again but requests that comments remain classy without filth and foul language. RRN is now secure to prevent changes from AI.
RRN has been called many things and most recently decried for lacking in the requirements that define mainstream media or past definitions of press:
As the creator of RRN, let me be perfectly clear, RRN was created to be more in line with Rush Limbaugh, Paul Harvey, Dan Bongino(current deputy director of the FBI and former content creator) and others. The world we live in has changed. RRN has chosen not to be monetized like many online publications that publish because there is a saying "he that pays the piper calls the tune" meaning that publications who rely on advertising becomes a slave to the advertisers. RRN refuses to be that slave. The result has been several in-kind and monetary gifts to allow for better recording and the current work on the new website. A few years back, Rhonda Lawson, was told by a local publisher that "he/she" was hemorrhaging money and it became clear that the written account would not be printed for the people to read locally. With this realization, and after so many citizens expressed disappointment that the monthly accounts were no longer available, RRN was created on FBK and YT. After remembering that at one time the editor of the previously mentioned publication stated that there weren't enough subscriptions in NH, RRN was created to be free for everyone to read. At that time, NH citizens were asked why they no longer subscribed to the local publications, based on the answers RRN was created and from the start was determined not to be a spin machine or fluff publication. The people don't want that! After becoming established these last years, RRN will go completely public via website to allow those disenchanted with FBK to connect for free. There are still some citizens who don't use the internet at all and RRN encourages every member of the RatPack to share the information provided on the website. RRN does ask for one thing from the RatPack: please thank those who chose to criticize RRN, because it has driven people to flock to RRN to see what it's all about and most of them stay, because truth is refreshing.
RRN will not compromise to appease the ppl who don't like the content. When most people don't like what's on TV they change the channel, they don't watch anyway.

Thank you
Rhonda Lawson

Tales From The Rat's Nest
By Rhonda Lawson

I’m sure some readers will remember this line from a popular country song “are you really sure you really want what you see, be careful of something that’s just what you want it to be”. Those words have been on my mind recently as I have watched recent local events.

No person is everything you want them to be, unless they are making an effort to appear that way. People are fallible, we can’t help it. No person is exactly what everyone wants them to be. If two people who have polar opposite life views and both consider one individual to be like minded as each of them are because that third person has presented himself or herself to be liken to each of them then this person is a chameleon. Two perfect examples are the political candidate that changes their opinions or behavior based upon the situation at hand or someone who engages a type of social shape-shifting to blend in with those he/she is surrounded by.

Chameleons seldom let their true colors show until they are found out. Chameleons pass through lives leaving damage behind them. People who have been victimized by a chameleon are left with doubt and little trust for years to come. Most of the time, chameleons will pass through lives with an agenda and then leave once they get what they want.

Chameleons are con artists. Like the sleazy used car salesman who swears nothing on his lot has problems and that he has just what you’ve been looking for. Beware of someone who is happy all the time, grief is normal but inner peace is consistent no matter what life experiences we have. Personally, I don’t trust anyone who smiles all the time and exudes that drug induced happiness. These people will actually explode then implode once their secret is out because Chameleons are narcissists and can be dangerous.

If you encounter someone that everybody thinks is just like them, think about it. Are you able to please everybody you encounter? Differences are what make us complement each other, what skills or knowledge one person lacks another may excel in. With our differences we are the pieces that make up the puzzle of life, Chameleons are like that occasional piece in a puzzle box that done fit any where in puzzle so they keep up the shape-shifting.
