Today marked the start of the first ever Bloomfield Community Television sports broadcasting camp where I’m working with students who want to be on air! Such a great start to the week and will culminate with an all student production of the “Keith Bernacki Memorial Cup” between Brother Rice and Seaholm in soccer next Tuesday (8/19).

I also had the opportunity of being interviewed for a feature spread by Birmingham/Bloomfield’s DownTown magazine a few weeks back about my career, joining BCTV as a freelancer, and working the broadcasting camp.

Working on a big project for as we get set to cover the “Keith Bernacki Memorial Cup” on August 19th.

I’m responsible for the halftime piece that will air inside the stadium and had the opportunity to sit and talk with Keith’s family, as well as Seaholm Athletic Director Aaron Frank about Keith’s legacy, the impact of the game, and more.

Last Sunday I had the privilege of being on the mic for the final day celebrating Comerica Parks 25th anniversary. And because of that, I had the honor of introducing longtime Public Address Announcer Bobb Vergiels who came back to introduce the starting lineups!

I, like many, grew up listening to Bobb on the mic when attending games as a kid and a young adult, and it was a thrill to toss it to him for lineups and for him to toss it back for me to do the rest of the game.

I’ll be back on the mic this Thursday (7/24) when the team returns from their roadtrip, and will also be on 7/26 and 7/29.
