Great local writeup about Music Fest at Curiosity Cabin!

By Brooke EischensFeature Writer Each year, when the sun begins to set on another busy Minnesota summer in the Lakes Area, local musicians prepare for one “last hurrah” before settling indoors for the cooler months. Mark Haen’s annual Music Fest began around 40 years ago when he lived in Olivi...

Last Saturday was Mark Haen’s annual Music Fest at Curiosity Cabin. NCE brought all the gear out to play and spent a lovely day behind the mixing console.

This was a block party with the vibe of a small local music festival. Bands, one after another, jams with guests, people hopping on and off stage to contribute to the musical experience.

It was great weather, there was good food, and the tunes were plentiful. A truly awesome hang. Thanks to all of the performers, helpers, and to Mark and Julie for organizing!

Hey! You there! Enjoyers of the highest quality musics…

You absolutely need to check out Galactic Cowboy Orchestra. Progressive rock, jazz fusion, nu-folk, roots blues rock, and a host of other genre-bending influences. A few important things:

Number one. They are going on Midwest-ish tour in October and November.
Minnesota folks: Their first stop is at the Hook and Ladder in Minneapolis on 10/29. Tickets will be available for that date soon, so set a reminder, be sure to pick up those tickets through Hook and Ladder, see the show, and you can thank us later.

Number two. They have a deep discography, so be sure and pick up either physical or digital copies from their store.

NCE has been incredibly fortunate to work with this great crew on a number of occasions. The musicianship is top-notch, the energy is infectious, and the tunes are righteous.

They definitely deserve a “Yee Haw!”

Airborne Attraction put on an incredible show at Little Theatre Auditorium last Thursday (8/6), and the energy in the space was off the charts! Thanks to everyone who came out to support the band and join us for a great night of music.

Tonight is the last show for the band, 8-9:30pm in Cokato on the Corn Carnival main stage. Be sure to send this young group off in style!
