Ice on the way tonight...were loading til 7pm

Weather Alert Update - A batch of freezing rain showers will gradually move into the area later this evening, with temperatures remaining in the mid-to-upper 20s. Freezing rain is expected to peak in coverage and intensity around midnight, becoming more showery and spotty during the pre-dawn hours. Temperatures will gradually warm above freezing, transitioning all activity to plain rain showers or drizzle. A general coating of up to 0.10" of ice is expected. Areas of plain rain will move through during the morning before a cold front brings colder and very windy conditions (peak gusts around 40 - 50 mph) late in the day.
These wind gusts can knock down trees/ large limbs on power lines, causing scattered power outages. Please make sure that if you have a generator, it has plenty of fuel and the exhaust is outside. Please make sure your electronics are fully charged.
Our DPW, NMPD, NMFire, and NMAmbulance will be ready if needed.

No rest... we will be open Sun 6am-9am and back again from 3pm-7pm

Lows will be around 10 above tonight, so plenty of cold air in place to set the stage for freezing rain tomorrow evening. Ice potential always makes me nervous, so keep a close eye on this. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY has already been issued for the Northern half of CT, and may expand south. Watching for ice to come in after 5PM, but I’ll have updates on the timing as we go.
