Gregory James Gallery will present a retrospective exhibit of photographs by Bill Quinnell inspired by his recent 80th birthday. It will be on view from May 18 through May 31.

The exhibit will highlight themes, styles, and artistic sensibilities the New Milford-based photographer has explored over 40 years, including a new series depicting flowers in vases and earlier photos of boxing and boxers.

An opening reception will be held on Sunday May 18, from 2 – 4 p.m., and the show will continue through the end of May.

It will feature a new series of works inspired by the qualities of morning light as it creeps through Quinnell’s bedroom window each day.

https://www.hamlethub.com/new-milford-connecticut/new-milford-named-one-of-8-offbeat-connecticut-towns-to-visit-by-world-atlas New Milford is named one of “8 Offbeat Connecticut Towns To Visit In 2025” by Worldatlas.com

The article states, “Looking for small towns with big personalities? Look no further than The Constitution State. A state where giant frog statues guard bridges, and Sicilian puppets entertain the crowd. Centuries blend together through murals, repurposed spaces, and museums, welcoming visitors to learn what makes this state so unique.”

The article boasts that New Milford invites romance at every turn. “Start by walking through the 160-acre park that is full of Native American lore about lovers who jumped to their deaths, giving it the name Lovers Leap Park.” There, you’ll discover “1895 Berlin Iron Bridge stretching 100 feet above the river gorge. From the bridge, appreciate stunning views of flowing water, towering boulders, and ruins from the American industrial era.”

Why Small Businesses Matter made possible by Fairfield County Bank Local Business Champion: Casa O Mrkting
Meet Mariana “Mimi” Arteaga Pérez, founder and operator of Casa O Marketing.
Q: Why did you start your business?
A: I started my business to fill a need within my community. It all began with helping friends build websites, and soon after, a client asked me to help with their social media. At first, I was hesitant, but they insisted, so I stepped in. That project led to another client, and before I knew it, word spread. I realized that people were craving help in showcasing their incredible gifts, so I decided to dedicate myself to supporting businesses both locally and beyond in sharing their unique stories and values.
Q: What sets Casa O Marketing apart in digital marketing?
A: At Casa O Marketing, we specialize in helping businesses grow organically by providing personalized and strategic digital marketing solutions. My passion is helping entrepreneurs and small businesses build authentic connections with their audience through tailored social media management, branding, and content creation. Our focus is on nurturing long-term relationships with our clients and empowering them to showcase their unique talents and values to the world.
Q: What is your best-selling product/service?
A: Our most popular service is our social media management membership. It’s like Netflix for social media marketing—tailored specifically to your business. We work closely with you, capturing and creating custom content designed to connect with your ideal clients and elevate your brand’s presence online.
Q: Have you “reimagined” your small business?
A: Yes, we’ve recently undergone a rebrand! We launched a new website and refreshed our look to better communicate our values and make it easier for business owners to understand what we offer. Along with the new look, we introduced exciting services, such as our 6-week social media course and personalized consulting for those who want to stay hands-on with content creation but need expert guidance and education. This rebrand has made it easier and faster for our clients to work with us and to align their marketing efforts with their business goals.

Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular days to get engaged, setting the stage for couples to begin planning their perfect wedding. While some may envision a local celebration, many are choosing to tie the knot in breathtaking destinations. For couples looking beyond traditional venues, Expedia Cruises offers more than just cruise vacations. Under the leadership of Mary and Jim Villamana, Connecticut’s first-ever Expedia Cruises agency specializes in destination weddings and all-inclusive resort getaways, including the romantic, luxury experiences offered by Sandals Resorts.
