New Jim Stephens Music record coming in July. There will be a lead single or two between May and June. The new record is all blues/based in blues and features a powerful and legendary squad of Cee Knowledge a/k/a Doodlebug of the legendary Digable Planets, Ivan Neville, Big Sam Williams, Edward Lee, Silent Knight, Eddie Christmas, Reggie Scanlan, Lori Lapatka, E-Hos, Damon St. Alborne, the legendary Hezekiah of Def Jam and Beat Society fame, and Boy Wonder and Ariel Skye delivering incredible and instantly classic vocal performances. I love all of the attention that 3000 has brought to the flute, I posted about this already. But in all seriousness, in addition -

Elliott Levin out of Philly has been a global legend for 5 decades on the instrument. Nadia Kyne (Nadia Kyne Jones)) from Vancouver, CA has been an international powerhouse for 2 decades. And Joe Conyers' Project 440 out of ATL has been bringing classical music into inner cities with education, outreach, and orchestra for years.

Dig my friends. Please. All props to 3 stacks. It's not a fad, or a new thing, no matter what Lizzo and 3000 fans may try to make it. If folks really wanna learn.... then really dig in to the famz...okay?

Well, it's been a long time coming. And the Covid years halted a lot of things for a lot of people. Putting out 4 records in the 3 years prior to the pandemic on ropeadope, with one being a double album, Ropeadope helped me set up and guided me to starting my own independant imprint. There were a lot of plans in the beginning of 2020 for a roster and me recording 3 more records between 2020-2021.

But it looks like Elite Music Group - EMG will finally launch soon.

There will be a first single by the end of the year.

A few different things and styles and keeping it all back to my roots. The songs and tracks will feature a lot of people from my collectives over the years, members of bands that i've performed with and sat in with a lot, and an array of legends across genres.

Elite Music Group isn't just a catchy or marketing name. I'll be brining some of the best to ever do it across genres and generations on a variety of singles and releases.
