The New Orleans Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. proudly salutes Brother L. Kasimu Harris on a historic achievement.
Brother Harris has become the first Black, New Orleans–based photographer to have his work added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. His series, Vanishing Black Bars & Lounges, is currently featured in New Photography 2025: Lines of Belonging.
This milestone is more than an individual triumph — it’s a testament to achievement in every field of human endeavor. Brother Harris’s artistry preserves the stories of our community while elevating the cultural legacy of New Orleans on a global stage.
