📣 Congratulations to our longtime friend & former board member, Mark Schleifstein!

We are absolutely thrilled to congratulate Mark for being named recipient of the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana.

Mark’s journalism—dating back to 1984 at The Times-Picayune, The New Orleans Advocate and NOLA.com—has helped all of Louisiana understand, mourn and act upon the challenges of coastal land loss. His work on Hurricane Katrina, the “Oceans of Trouble” series, and so many other stories has shaped public awareness and won national recognition.

His many honors, including awards from our own Press Club, are a testament to his integrity, persistence and impact.

Mark, thank you for your leadership, your reporting and your commitment to shining light on what matters. We’re so proud to have called you part of our community. Well deserved! 🎉

The Press Club of New Orleans is happy to announce that applications are being accepted for this year’s scholarship awards. We are awarding two $2,500 scholarships in August.

Scholarships are funded by FOX 8 WVUE TV, Renaissance Publishing and year-long fundraising efforts.

Applications must be received by Friday, July 26, 2024 at 5 p.m.
