"Love and Live Passionately and give everything you've got!"

The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.”

We should consider each day lost on which we have not danced at least once.--Nietsche

Dancing is not raising your feet painlessly,
Like a speck of dust blown around in the wind. Dancing is when you rise above worlds,
Tearing your heart into pieces and giving up your soul.--Rumi

The only thing I photographed all night... was this.

And that tells you everything.

I went to a ladies' night. Three hours. We came with our best intentions and our prepaid tickets, ready to be delighted.

We did not come because we needed another ladies' night. We came on purpose, a table full of women showing up to support local restaurants, the way this city survives... by showing up for each other.

The first hour and a half, we waited. Food and drinks paid for in advance, and for a long stretch there was... nothing. Not because the kitchen had nothing to give, but because the room did not seem to know how to give it.

Then the food arrived, and oh, it was amazing. The performer was wonderful. And this piece of art was beautiful enough to come home with me.

But here is the tell, at least for me...

I took no pictures of the night. Not one. I walked in ready to document, to film, to write, and to capture the whole thing. The camera stayed in my bag.

Event planning is an art. It is not mastered by many.

We ask why restaurants are closing. The answer is rarely the food. So often, it is everything around the food. The flow, the care, the plan, and the hundred invisible decisions that make a guest feel held instead of forgotten.

That is what stings the most. We came ready to root for you. The whole night, we wanted you to win.

The one thing I chose to photograph was the one thing made with intention.

Art by Megan Galibert Art. Thank you for being the most beautiful part of the evening.

With a second line in my step wherever the rhythm carries me,
Karlita

Some things don't need a whole campaign. They just need to be done right, and done soon.

That's why I built Spotlight Express: senior-level PR and copywriting help, one project at a time, at a flat price. Your bio, your About page, your LinkedIn, your captions... the small things that carry more weight than you'd think.

Spotlight Express is always open, so whenever that one thing is ready, so am I. No retainer, no waitlist, no runaround.

Ready to knock out that one thing?
Email EXPRESS to [email protected]
and let's go. ✨

Only in New Orleans does the King save lives on a scooter... and bring the sass with him.

The Rolling Elvi rolled up in full sequins and swagger, sideburns and all, alongside the Sassyracs, the dance krewe born from a Sazerac and built to bring the sass to the streets. Together they turned the most quietly heroic thing a person can do, rolling up a sleeve, into a full-blown celebration.

A blood drive doesn't usually come with a soundtrack, a shimmy, and a King. This one did.

Because this is a city that turns generosity into a parade. The Elvi and the Sassyracs have teamed up with The Blood Center to answer a real and urgent shortage, proving that showing up for a stranger can look like rhinestones, pomade, and a whole lot of hip.
Inviting New Orleans dance krewes to perform, this event is always so welcoming, so much fun, a great time to get together, and support a good cause.
Give a little blood, save a life, and dance while you're at it.

Thank you, King. Thank you, ladies. The city runs a little more alive because of you.
