Statement on Charlie Kirk’s death from the publisher:
Every life matters. Every single one.
The news of Charlie Kirk’s death is not an occasion for celebration, no matter how strongly you disagreed with his politics. Violence is not justice, nor is it progress, it is certainly not the answer to solve the major challenges in our lives. Charlie also had a wife and young children who will grow up without a dad.
To those who think burning the system down is the solution, do you realize what that really means? It means killing people. It means lives lost, families destroyed, and communities ripped apart. That’s not liberation, nor Is it a strength. That’s despair masquerading as revolution.
We cannot meet hatred with bloodshed and then pretend we’ve won something. If we glorify this, and fill the comments sections with jokes, applause, or approval, we only play straight into the hands of those eager to brand the left as violent radicals. That’s morally wrong, and it’s strategically foolish. It gives the right the ultimate weapon to spin the narrative and justify their own repression.
Regardless of how controversial his views were, Charlie Kirk didn’t deserve to die. Life is valuable, and every loss is tragic. If you feel tempted to cheer, take a step back. Ask yourself whether you are condemning the elite political class who profit while we fight one another, or are you feeding the very beast that thrives on division and violence?
Now is the time to tone down the rhetoric and stand firm against violence. It’s time to remember that real change comes from building, organizing, resisting with courage, but never with bullets or blood. The system already thrives on turning us against each other. Don’t feed that beast.sb
