Sometimes the glow-up is extremely unsexy. It’s throwing s**t away. Going back to therapy. Taking the medication. Making a budget. Saying no. Going to work. Studying. Crying. Sleeping. Trying again tomorrow.

We don’t talk enough about how expensive it is to be poor in America. Late fees, overdraft fees, paying more for things because of high interest rates, paying larger deposits. Hell, putting off medical and dental procedures until they become even more extensive and therefore more expensive.

You literally can’t afford to be broke in this country.
