Florida International Terminal is seeking a motivated Part-Time Assistant Operations Manager (Yard/Gate Operations) to support terminal operations and workforce management at Port Everglades, Florida. This role is critical to ensuring safe, efficient yard and gate operations while maximizing productivity. ⚓

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead daily yard and gate operations with focus on efficiency and safety
- Supervise and direct union labor teams to ensure productivity and compliance
- Monitor yard space, vessel productivity, and operational KPIs
- Manage labor scheduling, assignments, and equipment readiness
- Implement standard operating processes and drive continuous improvement
- Conduct pre-shift safety talks and address potential operational hazards

Qualifications:

- 0–2 years of terminal, transportation, or stevedoring experience preferred
- Terminal operations and systems management experience
- Leadership, personnel management, and conflict resolution skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Ability to obtain port and TWIC credentials
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

For this quarter’s HR NOLA Reflection Series, We want to recognize the great work of our HR Generalist, Jordan Rankins.

Jordan spent Q2 focused on creating stronger teams by putting people first. She approached every project with respect, thoughtfulness, and a clear understanding of how to connect employee needs with business goals.

A few highlights from her quarter:

*Helped clients build more inclusive and aligned teams, including using PI profiles and a relationship guide, improving communication between a manager and a direct report

*Promoted trust and transparency through everyday culture work by prepping talking points for 1:1s and leading the “Culture of Feedback” section during a client's Supervisor Skills Training

*Strengthened HR processes while keeping people at the center, most notably by building out and training a team on a new Applicant Tracking System

Jordan shows up with purpose and care. She brings real dedication to the people behind the policies, and it shows in the results. We’re lucky to have her on the HR NOLA team.

Florida International Terminal is seeking an experienced Procurement Lead to manage strategic purchasing activities, drive cost savings, and optimize procurement processes in alignment with our business objectives. This is an opportunity to lead supplier negotiations, enhance sourcing strategies, and ensure operational excellence in global terminal logistics. ⚓

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and execute procurement plans for strategic services and goods
- Develop purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate supply risks
- Manage supplier relationships and ensure market analysis
- Oversee purchasing processes through SAP and related systems
- Provide expert procurement guidance to internal stakeholders
- Drive efficiency in tender/bid processes and contract negotiations
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, finance standards, and audit requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
- Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
- Knowledge of procurement regulations, ERP systems, eProcurement, and Contract Management
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Authorized to work in the United States; pre-employment and random drug testing required

- Office-based role with occasional field visits and travel as needed
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, terminal environments, and PPE requirements
- Availability for rotating on-call schedules, extended workdays, and weekends/holidays as needed

Dan brings over a decade of HR experience across multiple industries—from nonprofit and education to biotech, wellness, and construction. Dan approaches every aspect of HR with empathy, openness, and intentionality.

Originally from New York, he holds a Bachelor’s in History from CUNY Hunter College and a Master’s in Education from CUNY City College. But we’re proud to now call him a part of the New Orleans community, where he’s passionate about fair housing, justice reform, and all things community wellness.
