If you've ever ordered a glass of absinthe, you'll know how mesmerizing the process of watching the green tinted liquid louche with water and sugar is. I've been captivated with it ever since ordering a glass in Pirate's Alley years ago, and my interest has only grown as I've learned of the history New Orleans shares with absinthe and the chemist from Louisiana who is the one primarily responsible for breaking the 100 year ban on absinthe in the states. Ted Breaux is that scientist and he has ended up crafting his own brand, which is the best in the world in my opinion. He returned my email when I cold called him and met up with me for a drink to my giddy delight as I pitched him this commercial concept. Shot in the historic French Quarter and on an LED wall for the interiors. Thankful for the chance to share my love of absinthe and for the support of all the people who helped bring this vision to life. On the lookout for the next story to tell through video. Here's a little New Orleans sunshine on a gloomy day.

Originally this project started as a means to express ourselves during quarantine when we weren’t allowed to be social. Using a drone to allow us to maintain safe distance from the dancers, Bruno and I operated and piloted in tandem while Meryl coordinated with the dancers using the prompt, what does quarantine feel like.

This version is a recut to a different song with a lighter tone that hopes to inspire hope and leave behind the dark days of quarantine.

I met Pat'za performing in Antigua at cafe No Se. My trip was almost over and I was looking for an artist to collaborate on a video with to put all the footage I'd gathered together. We agreed to make a video and the next day I was up in her hood shooting some footage of her performing her song. Footage is from all across Guatemala.
