The New Orleans Society for Infectious Diseases Awareness (NOSIDA) was recently awarded a license to construct a new low power radio station for New Orleans: 102.3 WHIV. WHIV is community radio for New Orleans; our signal range covers the complete New Orleans metropolitan area. The format of the station will be two-fold: during the day, the station will feature local New Orleans and Louisiana news

and current events with voices as diverse as our city; in the evenings, weekends, and holidays, we will broadcast locally DJ'ed shows highlighting New Orleans music and culture.

It's pretty staggering that we've produced 87,600 hours of social justice and human rights focused radio in the ten years since WHIV-FM started. Wow! All thanks to dedicated volunteers creating original community-serving programs and to supporters like you!

We need your help to keep broadcasting for another ten years. As an organization with a budget under $100,000 your support means everything to us. We really need our supporters to dig deep right now so that we can keep broadcasting social justice and human rights from New Orleans to the world for another ten years! Can you help us by making a donation to our 10-year anniversary fundraising campaign? buff.ly/4im9VfR

WHIV is more than just a radio station - we're a community. For ten years we've been a home for folks who want to make a positive impact in their own communities here in New Orleans and beyond. In that decade we've had at least 120,000 listeners (and probably more!) who have been impacted by the hope and inspiration our programs bring them.

That hope and the space we provide to our community (both on the air and in-person) are more important than ever as we face the coming years of strengthening political oppression and a weakening mainstream media. Our plan is to keep dialing up the hope and inspiration that underpins our programming, and we can't do it without your support.

One program we're excited to launch in the coming year is a LGBTQ+ youth radio training program in partnership with the New Orleans Pride Center. We remain dedicated to making sure that the most marginalized voices have a home at WHIV. Help us keep that home open and thriving by making a donation at buff.ly/4fUhgRT!

Whether you love us for groundbreaking shows like Expanding the Rainbow, our leading edge public awareness campaigns around issues like the pandemic, or unique music shows like Planeta Brasil, there are so many reasons to support WHIV's community radio programs. In 10 years we've had more than 125 hosts contribute by creating original radio programs you can't hear anywhere else.

Did you know WHIV is one of the only radio stations with a focus on human rights and social justice? Nobody else is doing it like us, and we're doing it with that New Orleans flair, baby! But we can't do it without your support.

We rely on donations from supporters like you to keep our radio tower and website broadcasting all of our phenomenal content. No billionaires are funding this media! Can you help us keep the lights on by making a donation to our 10-year anniversary campaign today? at https://buff.ly/4im9VfR
