A sincere thank you to Editors-in-Chief Dr. Peter Hendricks and Dr. Charles Nichols for their visionary leadership.

Dozens of religious leaders experienced magic mushrooms in a university study. Many are now evangelists for psychedelics.

New Open-Access Resource for Acupuncture Researchers

The Topological Atlas and Repository for Acupoint Research (TARA) is an innovative new database that allows scientists to deposit, share, and compare data on acupuncture points. Developed with funding from the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, TARA is poised to advance our understanding of acupoint mechanisms.

In Medical Acupuncture, Dr. Helene Langevin highlights how TARA can support data synthesis across disciplines and shed light on how stimulation of the body’s surface affects internal systems like the interstitium and nervous system.

🧠 A major step forward in brain injury research

When someone experiences a traumatic brain injury (TBI)—whether from a fall, accident, or sports injury—health professionals often struggle to consistently describe and classify what’s happening in the brain.

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) has just launched a new initiative to change that. Their TBI Classification and Nomenclature Initiative, published in Journal of Neurotrauma, introduces a standardized way to define and categorize acute TBIs.

This new system helps researchers and clinicians speak the same language, improving how we study TBI and how we care for patients in the future.
