Volleyball season opener is here!

The New Rockford-Sheyenne volleyball team opens their season tonight at home against the Griggs-Midkota Lady Titans (A,B,C,8,7).

Go get 'em, Rockets! 🚀

IT'S RACE DAY! Catch all the action from CrossRoads Golf Club today at 2 p.m. with the Carrington Cardinal Invitational Cross Country Meet!

The Carrington Cardinals, along with the Griggs/Midkota Titans, M/P-B Thunder, NR-S Rockets and 12 other teams, will all be competing in the four races, which include junior varsity and varsity divisions.

The Independent's Erik Gjovik will be on hand at the meet, snapping photos of your favorite athletes. Once the competition is done, a gallery of the day's runs will be posted at transcript.smugmug.com as soon as possible.

Today, the youth Rocket football teams – 3rd-4th and 5th-6th – are set to host Griggs-Midkota in their season opener.

The 3rd-4th grade teams will face off at 5:30 p.m., with the 5th-6th graders following around 6:30 p.m.
