Art Movez_ is where creativity, innovation, and social justice converge in dynamic conversations that challenge the status quo. Hosted by the insightful Toni Williams and the visionary Eli Kuslansky, this podcast dives deep with trailblazing artists and cultural leaders who are pushing the boundaries of creative expression. In this compelling episode, they sit down with Kendall Henry, the Assistant Commissioner of Public Art for New York City’s Department of Cultural Affairs. Kendall takes us on a journey through the vibrant world of public art, revealing how it can shape and transform communities. From the significance of site-specific art to the power of the city’s Percent for Art law, Kendall shares insider perspectives on how public spaces can become catalysts for change.
The discussion doesn’t stop there—it also tackles the complexities of representing diverse histories through public monuments and explores the exciting role of digital technology in revolutionizing our public art experiences. Kecia Elan is in the house as our producer.
