The Trail of Tears: The Choctaw Journey
In the 1830s, the Choctaw Nation was forced from their ancestral homelands. Families walked more than 500 miles through freezing winters, hunger, and disease. Soldiers pushed them westward, and countless lives were lost along the way—graves marking the path of sorrow.
Yet even in the face of heartbreak, the Choctaw people endured. In Oklahoma, they rebuilt their communities, preserved their traditions, and carried their spirit of resilience forward.
The Trail of Tears is not just history—it is a story of survival, strength, and the unbreakable will of a people.
