Come be a plA-lister!!!

🚨🚨!!!HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!🚨🚨

We’re SO excited to announce our new playlist project: vox + stix plA-listers! We know how hard all of you in the indie community work to make your music and try to get it heard. You know how much we love to help with that. plA-listers is another way to make that happen!

vox + stix / vox + guest has teamed up with some of the most beloved and respected members of the indie music community to bring you plA-listers. We have six genres (for now) being curated by these amazing people:

* ROCK ROYALS, curated by Freaky Things and Joe Booe of 11k bands, including VoodooMirage and Shadowband

* METAL MASTERS, curated by 3 Bravo and Storm-Kingdom

* PUNK PUSHERS, curated by E:W:L and The Fraz Band

* ELECTRONICA ENGINEERS, curated by Richie Warwick and Lost Cause Industry

* COUNTRY CREW, curated by Brian Meulen Music and The Mid-Watch Music

* EPIC EXPLORERS, curated by AFYRA and Ghost of Rucker 的幽灵拉克

* NEW RELEASE RENEGADES (all genres, rolling playlist), curated by Christina Vox, Greg Stix, Blue Grazer Records, Geo Stough of The Deck of Many Bands, and Fossegrim Records.

We’ll be dropping a new playlist in each genre every two weeks on Mondays, with the New Release playlist regularly updated. All the playlists will feature musicians from across the indie community. No favoritism, no insider BS, no catch — just great music from anyone and everyone our curators love to listen to. All plA-listers playlists will be available on Spotify, YouTube Music, and Tidal (working on Apple Music) and will also be collected and shared on our website, coming very soon!

We’d be INCREDIBLY grateful for anyone who wants to help the community by saving, sharing, and streaming the playlists along with us. We’re also looking for folks who want to get even more involved to join our genre groups and connect with other musicians in their genre. Greg, the whole plA-listers team, and I are honored to have a new way to contribute to this amazing community, which is so generous and supportive without agenda. The only goal here is to help you all be heard in a way we believe will serve you best, while hopefully also creating new relationships and even collabs within and across genres. You’re ALL A-listers to us.

vox + guest fans and fam:

After a lot of thought and discussion, Greg and I have decided to shift the direction of vox + guest. While we love doing the regular format, our life has been so difficult lately that we’ve had to reschedule as often as tape. Finding the 15-20 hours per episode it takes to research, prep, film, edit, etc., has become increasingly difficult and we refuse to compromise the quality of the show or our commitment to amplifying all of you.

So here’s the plan: We’ll still tape and air the interviews already scheduled (probably into the fall) but intersperse more Lives into the mix. Once we finish those tapings up, we’ll switch to doing a weekly Live instead, like the one this past Monday, with the rotating Mystery Panel of Goodness™ playing and reacting to 15+ indie songs a week by all of you — but also with a ton of additional ideas and iterations (we’ll be mixing it up a LOT). One common thread, though: Showcase the indie community and get your music heard in a variety of weird, fun, cool, and hopefully engaging ways. I got ideas! lol

We’ll still be accepting submissions for the long-format episodes and doing them from time to time, but mainly we’ll become a Live show that plays multiple artists each week (among other things) with the occasional episode focusing on one band or musician, rather than the other way around.

The community seems to enjoy the Lives at least as much, if not more, which tells me it may be a better way to showcase all of you right now. It’s a truly bittersweet decision for me and so we may switch back down the line, but for now it feels like this makes the most sense for all of us.

I’d really love feedback on this decision. Our schedule aside, what do you all think of this plan? Do you guys actually enjoy the Lives enough to keep tuning in? Are there already too many shows like that for you to bother with us? Will you miss the taped episodes? Does anyone even care what the hell we do? lol Please let me know because our whole goal here is to help all of you, so I’m very curious to hear how you think we can best do that with vox + guest. Thanks! ❤️

They do a LOT to promote, encourage, sell, share, and encourage everyone else. I'm thankful for them, a lot - at this time of remembering and giving thanks.

But now I’m not only also apparently unable to like/follow anyone from vox + stix and vox + guest, but it looks like FB may be unfollowing people from my accounts!??? PLEASE, if you see I used to follow you and don’t now, or if you’ve followed us and I don’t follow back, please let me know and bear with me while I get it sorted out.
