There have been a lot of questions about the new U.S. passport being discussed, so here’s what you need to know.

If your passport is expiring and you apply through the normal process, you will receive a standard U.S. passport.

The passport being referenced is a limited-edition commemorative release tied to the America250 celebration. It is not replacing the current passport and is not part of the regular application process.

Your current passport remains valid, and there are no changes to travel requirements.
