Do you rewrite the caption 6 times and then close the app without posting?

That’s not being busy. It’s the fear of being seen and it’s very good at wearing a disguise.

I used to think having the receipts would feel like a permission slip to self promote. Speaking from experience and with many other women It just changes the goal post of fear from here to there.

3 things I keep telling myself when the fear of being seen creeps up on me: 

1) Do it scared and climb cringe mountain

2) Share your wins because you are your PR

3) Post it online and be visible

We need to exercise visibility because it’s like a muscle.

Do you have multiple fashion personalities?

Here are 3 of mine 💅

🌿 Athleisure mode: throwback to Mong Kok flower market in Hong Kong. I miss a random saturday dimsum, then picking up fresh flowers while staying hydrated ofc. 

💖 Fashion mode: that time I visited Azzedine Alaïa Foundation in Paris with . All black with my Alaïa corset belt and always a pop of color. Fuchsia or red are my picks. 

☎️ Business mode: when you work in fashion tech your business outfits don’t have to be boring. Plus wearing digital fashion is called staying on brand especially in NYC.

I built a color analysis system over 2 years ago and never launched it.

Not because it didn’t work, but because I was scared of being judged.

Consulting clients who wouldn’t take me seriously. Brand partners who wouldn’t want to work with me.

So I built things and buried them in my hard drive.

Can you relate to this?

Recently the ChatGPT color analysis trend went viral and I watched it happen from the sidelines holding the thing I made years earlier.

15+ years in beauty, fashion, luxury and retail and I still couldn’t hit publish on my own product. 

Impostor syndrome strikes again and it does what it does best.

Prevents us from doing the thing even if we’re qualified because of fear of failure, fear of being judge and even fear of success. 

I’m climbing cringe mountain and doing it scared. Hbu?

🍵 TOW I Made a 7-Board Pitch Deck to Get an Internship With Zero Connections

Junior year, 2004. Tribal DDB, the digital arm of DDB. Nobody asked me for a presentation.

I had zero connections, so I made one anyway.

🎬 I titled it THE INTERN and framed it as an Apprentice spin off. Featured contestant, Jane Park.

🧸 Board three lists my hobbies. Collecting Care Bears.

💥 Board four asks what cartoon character I relate to. Buttercup from the Powerpuff Girls.

📐 Board six is Bill Bernbach, AVIS and Volkswagen. There’s a typo I fixed by hand in orange marker.

Care Bears and Bill Bernbach on the same deck. I didn’t know I was doing personal branding. There was no word for it in 2004.

The resume gets you in the room. The thing you built that nobody asked you for is what they remember when they’re making the decision.

🏀 ’s basketball sold out and it still isn’t fashion.

I spent 15+ years in beauty and fashion merchandising, so I graded the whole merch drop like a buy.

One category earned an F. If you are building in Fashion and Tech, then you’re going to want to read this.

Merch tells people which team you’re on.
Fashion tells them who you are.
Tech keeps confusing the two.

P.S. Pink is not a strategy to design and market to win. Period.

💅 many of you came for the nfc chip nails, but here’s the rest of the story. 

↳ When you are 2000 and late to blogging, but early enough to coin Wearable Fashion Tech™ and launch Jane Eujin Park a media brand and advisory covering the business of ai, fashion tech and wearables backed by 20+ years of business experience

↳ told Gary Vay-Ner-Chuk i was the korean american version of him  because our families both had liquor stores. i met him twice once at VeeFriends VeeCon kids and once NYFW on the street. 

↳ flew to korea nearly every week for 3 years building duty free business in korea with a government partner and chinese resort casino. 9-10 hours door to door from hk - incheon - gimpo - jeju. hit my company’s top 20 most traveled list. 

↳ def was not on my bingo card to go viral for nfc chip nails and put them on the map to blow them up in the business and creator space in may 2026. i almost didn’t post that video that took me 10 minutes (2 retakes, edit on phone, caption and post on IG + TT). 

↳ code switching is my superpower because I was always not korean enough or not american enough, too fashion, too tech, but also I can speak korean grandma, millenial, gen z bestie and roblox auntie with gen alpha. 

you never know what’s going to hit. post the content anyway because more times than not it’s the post that you never expected to go viral and meet new internet friends. 🫶

🍵 Fear of success and being seen is so real.

TOW I built what you asked me for, then stayed low-key about it for a whole month.

🇰🇷 Raised to study hard, work hard, be the best in the room. Same breath: don’t speak up, don’t make it about you. Turns out that combo makes you excellent at building things and terrible at telling anyone you built them.

💅 After my NFC chip nail video from Google I/O blew up in May, hundreds of you flooded my comments and DMs asking for tutorials and more info.

📝 So I shared tutorials and a free DIY NFC chip nail shopping list. You still wanted more. Details, troubleshooting, networking tips.

📕 So I built the NFC Chip Nail Networking Guide. Launched June 24th. And then I never told the hundreds of you who grabbed the free list, the exact people who asked me to make it.

🫣 It wasn’t because the guide wasn’t good. It just felt weird, because it was my paid product.

Here’s what I’m unlearning in public: if you’re a woman who is excellent and has real value to give, there is nothing wrong with naming a price and knowing your worth. Even when it makes you feel cringe.

Does an NFC chip nail go off on your own phone?
Real answer: sometimes 🤳

If you press your phone right on the chip, it pops up. Harmless like a notification. You learn where not to grip, and then you forget it’s even on.
