🎬 If my life was a movie… this would be the poster.

Different places. Different chapters. Same man, still learning, creating, traveling, building and pushing toward a bigger purpose.

From music 🎧 to clean energy ⚡, from New York to the Caribbean ✈️🌴, every part of the journey has taught me something.

Every journey powers a purpose. 🙏🏾

New week. Fresh mindset. Let’s get it. 💪🏾☀️

Starting Monday grateful, focused, and ready for whatever the week brings.

Some days we’re building systems. ⚡
Some days we’re solving problems. 🔋
And some days we’re simply putting one foot in front of the other.

Either way… keep moving forward.

Have a productive and blessed Monday, everyone! 🙏🏾

☀️ If you’re just getting into backup power, don’t start by buying random batteries or panels.

Start by understanding how energy actually moves through a system.

A reliable setup isn’t a collection of separate gadgets it’s an integrated loop that works together:

☀️ 1 Solar Panels create the power.
They capture sunlight, but production constantly changes with the weather, sun angle, and time of day.

⚙️ 2 The MPPT Controller manages the intake.
Think of this as the middleman or traffic cop. It takes the variable voltage from your panels and safely conditions it to charge your batteries efficiently.

🔋 3 The Battery Bank stores the energy.
This is your energy reservoir. It holds daytime power so you still have electricity when the sun goes down at night.

🏠 4 Priority Loads decide your system size.
Your essential appliances, especially the refrigerator and freezer dictate how much storage and solar intake you truly need.

It’s a simple energy path:
☀️ SOLAR ➔ ⚙️ MPPT ➔ 🔋 BATTERY STORAGE ➔ 🏠 PRIORITY LOADS

When you understand the flow, building a setup that keeps you powered through an outage becomes a whole lot clearer.

💬 Which part of this flow was the most confusing for you when you first started?

⚡ Backup power is only as good as your recharge plan.

Today I’ve got my EcoFlow Smart Generator 4000 running on propane—ready to put energy back into the system when solar alone isn’t enough.

I prefer propane because it stores well, burns cleaner than gasoline, and I don’t have to worry about old fuel sitting in the generator.

☀️ Solar first.
🔥 Propane when needed.
🔋 Keep the batteries ready.

That’s the strategy behind my setup: multiple ways to recharge so I’m not depending on just one source.

💬 What’s your backup recharge plan when the sun isn’t cooperating?

⚡ A long power outage changes everything.

A few hours without the grid is one thing. But during a 48+ hour outage, I can’t treat my backup system like unlimited grid power. Every watt-hour matters.

That’s why I manage my system in layers:

🥶 1 — Protect the priority loads.
Refrigerator and freezer come first. Food protection is non-negotiable.

⚡ 2 — Watch the energy, not just the battery percentage.
I pay attention to how many watt-hours I’m actually using and cut unnecessary loads when needed.

☀️ 3 — Let solar determine the daily energy budget.
Good solar day? I have more flexibility. Poor solar day? I conserve earlier instead of waiting until the batteries are low.

The biggest lesson: backup power isn’t just about how much battery capacity you own. It’s about how well you manage the energy you have.

My goal isn’t simply to survive the first night it’s to still have power on Day 2, Day 3 and beyond.

💬 Reality check: If the grid went down right now and stayed down all weekend, how long would your setup last?

⚡ When do I bring in the generator?

I don’t use battery percentage alone to decide.

I look at 🔋 battery level, ☀️ available solar, ⏰ time of day and ⚡ expected loads.

If solar can’t replace what I’m using fast enough, I bring in the generator as the next recovery layer.

The goal: recharge before I’m forced to react.

💬 When would YOU start yours?

☀️ If I were building a solar backup system from scratch, I wouldn’t start by buying panels or batteries.

I’d start by understanding how the energy moves through the system.

For beginners, there are four things I think you should understand first:

☀️ 1 — Solar panels create the energy.
But production changes throughout the day depending on sunlight, weather and panel conditions.

⚙️ 2 — The charge controller manages that solar energy.
In my system, the MPPT controllers regulate the solar coming in and send it to my 24V battery bank.

🔋 3 — The battery bank stores the energy.
It lets me store solar energy during the day and use that stored energy later when the sun isn’t available.

⚡ 4 — Your loads determine the system you actually need.
Before worrying about how many panels or batteries to buy, figure out what you need to keep powered, how much energy those loads consume, and how long you need to run them.

The basic idea is simple:

☀️ SOLAR → ⚙️ MPPT → 🔋 BATTERY STORAGE → 🏠 YOUR LOADS

Once you understand that flow, sizing and expanding a system starts making a lot more sense.

Don’t build your system around the equipment you want. Build it around the loads you need to protect.

And remember solar production isn’t guaranteed every day. What happens when solar can’t put the energy back fast enough? That’s where the next layer of my backup plan comes in. 👀⚡

Next, I’ll show you when I decide it’s time to bring in the generator.

💬 If you’re building or planning a solar backup system, what’s the ONE part that confuses you most?

☀️ My solar panels don’t recharge my power stations first and there’s a reason for that.

During a power outage, using energy is only half the plan. I also need a way to put that energy back.

Here’s how my recovery system works:

☀️ STEP 1 — Solar recharges my 24V battery bank.
During the day, I use the available sunlight to put energy back into my main 24V LiFePO₄ bank.

🔋 STEP 2 — The battery bank stores that solar energy.
Instead of depending on the sun being available exactly when I need power, I store that energy for later.

⚡ STEP 3 — I use the 24V bank to refill my power stations.
As individual units get lower, I can transfer stored energy from the bank back into the power stations that need it.

So my outage strategy isn’t simply:

Battery → appliance → eventually empty.

It’s a cycle:

☀️ SOLAR → 🔋 24V BATTERY BANK → ⚡ POWER STATIONS → 🏠 PRIORITY LOADS

When the sun is available, the cycle starts again by replenishing the 24V bank.

That’s why I look at backup power as a system, not just a collection of batteries.

And if solar production can’t replace what I’m using fast enough, that’s when another layer of the recovery plan becomes important. 👀⚡

💬 How do you recharge your backup power during a long outage solar, generator, alternator, or a combination?

Good morning, beautiful people! ☀️🙏🏾

Grateful for another day, another opportunity, and another chance to keep moving forward.

Sometimes you don’t need to have everything figured out. Just wake up, give thanks, stay focused, and take the next step.

Wishing everybody a peaceful and productive day. 💙

What’s one thing you’re grateful for this morning?

⚡ When I test my backup system, I’m not trying to see if I can power EVERYTHING.

I’m testing whether the things that matter most will keep running when the grid actually goes down.

My priorities are simple:

🥶 #1 — Refrigerator & freezer
Protect the food first.

📡 #2 — Wi-Fi, lights & communication
Stay connected and keep the essentials running.

🍳 #3 — High-power appliances only when needed
Microwave, kettle and toaster get used when needed then turned back off.

☀️ Then comes recovery.

How much battery did I use? How much solar can I put back? And when would I bring in the generator?

That’s why I test my system now, not during the emergency when I actually need it.

A backup system isn’t ready because the batteries are full. It’s ready when you know exactly what you’ll do when the power goes out.

💬 What’s YOUR #1 priority load during an outage and why?
