The strategy was to create a music driven spot that integrated sound design elements that flowed and worked with the music in order to create a cohesive sound.

The lyrics of the music play an integral role in the concept of the spot and the sound design needed to complement the track without detracting from the theme.

Sound choice and timing are also an important part of the piece’s captivating sound and natural feeling. The sounds of the action on the field are stylized to add to the intensity and excitement. One of the more intriguing concepts was to weave the crowd chants, a staple in European football, into the overall flow of the music and picture edit, to give the illusion of the crowd interacting with the promo.

Did you know that a lot of Christmas movies are actually filmed during the summer? Not only are they capturing all the greenery, but also all those summer sounds like birds, cicadas, and lawnmowers. While the VFX team tackles the visuals, Flavorlab partner and re-recording mixer, Brian Quill, uses some of his own Christmas Movie Magic (and a little elbow grease) to give the scenes that wintery sound of the yuletide season. Hear the magic in Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, now playing on Hallmark!
